Preparing Brearley MacBooks for Testing

To prepare your device for testing, please:

  • Update your device's operating system
  • Download the Bluebook app via the Brearley App Store and open it (if not already installed)
    • As of 4/30/2026, the latest version is 1.14.2
  • Add the Bluebook app to your Dock (if not already shown)
  • Disable Siri
  • Disable Screen Time (if applicable)
  • Charge your device the night before

If you have any issues with the below steps, please open a support ticket


Updating your computer's OS

In order for Bluebook to run smoothly, the operating system should be updated to the most recent. Currently, the most recent operating system Brearley is supporting is Sequoia 15.5

Install Bluebook

Open the Brearley App Store and look for the Bluebook Exams app under the Testing category - select Install and allow a few minutes.

Once completed, go to Finderfinder-icon.png > Applications > look for the Bluebook Exams app. Feel free to add it to your Dock for quicker access.

Updating Bluebook Exams App

The Bluebook app updates automatically which is important to keep your Mac up-to-date. As of 4/30/2026, the latest version is 1.14.2. To check the the app's current version, go to Finderfinder-icon.png > Applications > select the Bluebook Exams app and press Command + i to get information.

If your app is not running the latest version, close the app and give it a few minutes so that it updates on its own. If it doesn't, see below our troubleshooting steps you can take


Troubleshooting

If your app is not updating, we recommend the following steps:

1. Ensure your computer is running the latest OS version.

2. Delete the Bluebook App and reinstall it from the Brearley App Store again.

Deleting the app

1. In order to delete the app, you will need to become an administrator. To do this, go to the Brearley App Store and run the Make Me Admin app. This will grant you access for 15 minutes

2. Go to Finderfinder-icon.png > Applications > select the Bluebook Exams app > drag it to the Trash Can (Command ⌘ + delete)  and input your credentials. To fully delete, go to the Trash and empty it

3. Reinstall the Bluebook app from the Brearley App Store
