Set up custom recurrence patterns for your events in order to efficiently manage your commitments.
Please note
Due to Field Day being a non-instructional day for MS/US students in May, custom recurring meetings scheduled after Field Day will not work as expected.
To continue recurring meetings after Field Day, please create two separate series: one ending on Field Day and another starting immediately afterward.
1. Go to Google Calendar
2. Create and Save a meeting/event on a school day. (You can also use a pre-existing meeting).
2. Click on in the side panel at the right of your browser.
3. Click on the meeting from Step 1.
4. Choose a 'Repeat until' end date.
5. Click 'Create Series For All Dates'
Done! Your event from Step 1 is now copied to all instances of that Day.
I made this short video of creating recurring meetings.
Details:
The event you selected will be listed at the top. Below that there is a field for selecting an end date for the recurrence. Below the Date Field, the Add-on will tell you on what day of your cycle your event will repeat - the example above indicates the event will repeat on all Day 8s.
3 Recurrence options
1. Select Specific Dates - this option opens a sidebar allowing you to select specific dates in your recurring pattern. Simply tick the boxes next to the dates you’d like to repeat the event, then click the “Create Selected Series” button.
2. Create For Every Other Date - this option will automatically repeat your event every other date in your pattern until your selected end date. (i.e. Every other Day 2)
3. Create Series For All Dates - this option will automatically repeat your event for every date in your pattern until your selected end date.
Because Custom Recurrence turns your single event into a series of events, any edits you make including adding guests or changing event color can easily be applied to all of your events in the series.
