Use Google Meet Companion

Google Meet | Companion mode is a new way to present/share your screen wirelessly to a Google Meet.

We recommend using this mode if:

  • Students need to present from their Chromebook or MacBook
  • The classroom’s Apple TV is not available
  • You have a Google Meet and need to share content to the room and/or remote students but the HDMI cable is not available
  • The room’s HDMI is not working properly or don’t have the right adapter

Getting Started

1. From the Google Meet Hardware display in the room

Start a new meeting, join an existing Google Meet link or use your own link

2. From your laptop

In Chrome, enter the short link g.co/companion or access this mode via the Technology Bookmarks > Google Workspace > Companion. Then on the Meet home screen, enter the same meeting code from the display

3. Share your screen in Companion mode

To share your screen, click Present and select A tab

NOTE: We encourage presenting a tab. This option will allow you to share audio/video seamlessly.

Keep in mind

Google Meet Speakermic is notloud enough when streaming audio/video. If you want to change the speaker output to the Epson Speakers, follow the steps below. These speakers offer higher volume and better audio quality
